Viktor Yushchenko in Baturin

On October 23, 2014 Baturin was honored with the visit of Victor Yushchenko, the third President of Ukraine (2005-2010). Hetman’s capital was revived thanks to this outstanding person, who always noted the special role of Baturin in rising up the Ukrainian nation. “The one coming to Baturin and stepping on this ground becomes the citizen if Ukraine, ready to sacrifice his body and soul for the Ukrainian nation”, - these words are especially actual in our time.
Victor Yushchenko laid flowers at the monument to the victims of 1708 Baturin Tragedy, saw the collectivity creating Hetman Glory Museum in Hetman Kirill Razumovsky Palace, watched the exposition of Judge General’s House, and visited sabbatical church, having bowed to the grave of Kirill Razumovsky and lit a candle for him.

He also visited Historical and Cultural Center “Maclay’s Sail”.
Victor Yushchenko was interested in the great traveler Miklouho-Maclay’s museum. Its hospitable owners, Nadezhda and Alexander Miklouho-Maclay, performed an interesting excursion for the third President of Ukraine and whole-heartedly thanked the honored guest for his noble deeds – the restoration of Baturin.
On a trip Viktor Yushchenko was accompanied by Valentina Rudenko Irina Vannikova, Mikhail Doroshenko, children Christina and Taras.
